Message from Head Office: "CALLING ALL P.A.T. GREYHOUNDS!"

 To mark the fantastic work they do, we thought it would be good to invite all P.A.T. greyhounds (and their owners!) along to this year's GGG to join us in a 'PAT PARADE' around the show ring.

At this year's GGG, there will be a 'PAT Parade' of retired greys around the main show ring at lunchtime to celebrate all the greyhounds who work throughout the year as Pets As Therapy dogs. If you own a PAT dog and would like to join us in Nottingham on Saturday 19th September please let the GGG organiser, Kim Holmes know on 0787 968 6563, or e-mail Marlincos@aol.comnd, she will happily provide more details.I'm sure you're all aware that Greyhounds make great Therapy Dogs, and many are registered with the Pets as Therapy charity visiting hospitals, hospices, care homes etc. all over the country.

Ring One:   Greyhound Classes:   Judge - Keith Thornton.
Judging Starts at 11am

Class 1:    Greyhound dogs 7 years and above on day of show
Class 2:    Greyhound puppies (Dogs & Bitches) - 6 months plus on day of the show but under 12 months.
Class 3:    Greyhound dogs 12 months up to 2 years
Class 4:    Greyhound dogs 2 years up to 5 years
Class 5:    Greyhound dogs 5 years up to 7 years
Class 6:    Black Greyhound dogs - all age, black only

Ring Two: Greyhound Classes:   Judge - Ann Raymond
Judging Starts at 11am

Class 7:     Greyhound bitches 7 years and above on day of show
Class 8:     Greyhound bitches 12 months up to 2 years
Class 9:     Greyhound bitches 2 years up to 5 years
Class 10:   Greyhound bitches 5 years up to 7 years
Class 11:   Black Greyhound bitches - all age, black only

Rosettes for Winner and Reserve classes 12-16

Class 12:    RGT RETIRED GREYHOUND OF THE YEAR

To qualify, the greyhound must have been rehomed by an RGT branch registered with the RGT no later than 30th June 2009. 
Just one entry from each branch - either qualified from their own branch or regional  Best in Shows, or through nomination process at local level.

Class 13:   BEST DOG - Judged from winners of Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 12 as appropriate.

Class 14:   BEST BITCH - Judged from winners of Classes 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 as appropriate.

Class 15:   BEST BLACK GREYHOUND - Judged from winners of Classes 6 and 11.

Class 16:   BEST IN SHOW (Greyhound) - Trophy and Rosette

Ring Three:   Companion Dog Show Classes:   Judge -  Derek Smith
Judging starts at 11 am

Class 17-22  are open to registered and un-registered pedigree dogs and bitches
Class 17:       Any Variety Veteran dog and bitch - 7 years and above on day of show
Class 18:       Any Variety Puppy - dog and bitch - 6 months plus on day of show but under 12 months.
Class 19:       Any Variety Hounds and Terriers Open
Class 20:       Any Variety Toy and Utility Open
Class 21:       Any Variety Working and Pastoral Open
Class 22:       Any Variety Gundogs Open

Class 23:   BEST IN SHOW (pedigree or unregistered dog or bitch) - judged from  winners of classes 17-22.

The show will break for lunch.

Ring One - Novelty Classes for Greyhounds and all other breeds
Judges - Ann Raymond and Derek Smith
To commence in the afternoon and after lunch - approximate start no earlier than 2.15pm

Class 24:    Fancy dress - dog and handler
Class 25:    Waggiest tail
Class 26:    Best condition
Class 27:    Prettiest Bitch
Class 28:    Handsomest Dog
Class 29:    Dog judge would most like to take home

what a brill day we had today. so many greys everywhere. congrats to ted representing perry bar we were cheering you on. well done. my tilly (queen of scholes)from daybreaks had a good day too. she came 2nd out of 62 greys for best 3-5 yr old class. then she came 4th out of 57 greys in the best black bitch class. very good ay. we r chuffed. well done again ted, u r lovely and very well deserved out of all those lovely greys.
